“We are honored to be recognized among the top employers in the state,” said John Krahulec, ConceptSolutions Executive Vice President and COO. “ConceptSolutions is a great place to work not just because of our benefits, but because of our people.  They are the best!”

This statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Virginia, benefiting the state’s economy, workforce and businesses. The 2016 Best Places to Work in Virginia list is made up of 100 companies.

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

– Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity;

– Be a publicly or privately held business;

– Have a facility in the state of Virginia;

– Have at least 15 employees working in the state of Virginia; and

– Be in business a minimum of 1 year.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in Virginia. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. For the third consecutive year, Virginia Business and Best Compa2015_best places to worknies Group have selected ConceptSolutions as a 2015 Best Places to Work in Virginia finalist. The comprehensive list was announced in the February 2015 issue of Virginia Business Magazine.

“It is an honor and privilege to be named among the top employers in the state,” said Phong Mai, ConceptSolutions president and CEO. “ConceptSolutions values its employees and we are proud of this continued recognition on the 2015 Best Places to Work in Virginia list.”

The annual statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Virginia. This distinction is bestowed upon companies with excellent ratings in several employee-focused categories such as corporate culture, benefits, engagement, and leadership.

The 2015 Best Places to Work in Virginia list comprises 100 companies chosen from an original pool of 150 companies split into three categories—small employers (15-99 employees), medium employers (100-249 employees), and large employers (250 or more employees). ConceptSolutions ranked 47th out of 63 small employer finalists.

Participating companies across the state entered the two-part assessment process. Employers completed a survey evaluating workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. Employees of the various employers also completed a survey measuring the employee experience. Best Companies Group analysts then used the survey feedback to determine the strengths and opportunities of participating companies, which is used for ranking determinations.

On Monday, December 2, 2013, our own John Krahulec, COO and Executive VP, joined a select group of companies representing the Greater Washington winners of the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 up in Times Square to ring the closing bell at NASDAQ. This group represents “the fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America. Award winners were selected based on percentage fiscal year revenue growth from 2008 to 2012.” As we mentioned before, it is an honor to be named to this select annual list. It is exceptional to be included on the list for a second year. But Deloitte and NASDAQ were astounded when they realized that Concept Solutions had been named to the Fast 500 for its seventh consecutive year. After admitting that they should have been more aware of repeat winners, some of the reps at Deloitte asked if they could do a follow up story on Concept Solutions.

During the bell ringing ceremony, the tv cameras record and simultaneously broadcast the event on the big screen in Times Square, as well as on NASDAQ.com and on CNBC’s “Closing Bell” program.

John is seen in the center behind the person ringing the bell. (Under the first ’t’ in Deloitte). For more details of this event, see visit the NASDAQ coverage here.

2013 Sloan Award Winner logoConcept Solutions, LLC has been honored with the 2013 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility for its use of flexibility and other aspects of workplace effectiveness as a workplace strategy to increase business and employee success.

This prestigious award, part of the national When Work Works project administered by Families and Work Institute (FWI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), recognizes employers of all sizes and types in Virginia and across the country.

Workplace flexibility — such as flextime, part-time work and compressed workweeks — has been demonstrated to help businesses remain competitive while also benefiting employees. Flexibility in combination with other aspects of an effective workplace—such as learning opportunities and supervisor support for job success—can have a powerful impact on employee engagement and motivation.

The Sloan Awards are unique for their rigorous, two-step selection process, which involves an evaluation of employers’ flexibility programs and practices, and a confidential employee survey on the key ingredients of an effective and flexible workplace. All applicants are measured against national norms from the National Study of Employers.

“As a recipient of the 2013 Sloan Award, Concept Solutions, LLC ranks among the top 20% of employers nationally in terms of its programs, policies and culture for creating an effective and flexible workplace,” said Ellen Galinsky, FWI president. “In addition, what makes this honor so special is that their employees have corroborated this, affirming that it is indeed an effective and flexible workplace.”

When Work Works is a national project to educate the business community on the value of workplace flexibility by sharing research and promising practices, and conducting the annual Sloan Awards. It is an ongoing initiative of FWI and SHRM.

About Deloitte’s FAST 500
The Technology Fast 500 is the pre-eminent technology awards program in North America (U.S. and Canada) with 2012 being its nineteenth anniversary. Combining technological innovation, entrepreneurship and rapid growth, Fast 500 companies – large, small, public, and private – span a variety of industry sectors, and are leaders in hardware, software, telecom, semiconductors, life sciences and emerging areas, such as clean technology. These companies are on the cutting edge and are transforming the way we do business today.

In order to be eligible for Technology Fast 500 recognition, companies must own proprietary intellectual property or proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company’s operating revenues. Using other companies’ technology or intellectual property in a unique way does not satisfy this requirement. Technology Fast 500 award eligibility requirements also include base-year operating revenues of at least $50,000 USD or CD, and current-year operating revenues of at least $5 million USD or CD. These revenues must have more than doubled between 2008 and 2012. Additionally, companies must be in business for a minimum of five years, and be headquartered within North America.
