CONCEPTSOLUTIONS WINS DHS SMALL BUSINESS AWARD

Washington Technology Fast 50 and Deloitte & Touche Fast 50/500 Honoree Recognized for Design of FEMA Data Quality Plan

RESTON, VA – September 2009 – ConceptSolutions (www.Concept-Solutions.com), an information management and technology consulting company serving government, military and commercial organizations, announced today that it has won the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) 2009 Small Business Achievement Award.

“ConceptSolutions’ is proud to accept this DHS award, which reflects our team’s continued commitment to providing quality technical and consulting services to our growing roster of federal agency clients that create meaningful impact in communities nationwide,” said John Krahulec, executive vice president and COO, ConceptSolutions.

The DHS Award, presented April 29, honors ConceptSolutions’ work assisting the agency’s design of its Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Data Quality Plan for Federal Procurement Data System-Next Generation (FPDS-NG) Data.

ConceptSolutions, an 8(a) small business, designed the specific steps and methodology required to ensure DHS/FEMA’S FPDS-NG data validation was statistically accurate, performed detailed reviews for 361 transactions, compiled interim results against targeted performance measurements, and compiled that information into a formal package. The ConceptSolutions team’s extensive knowledge and experience with FPDS-NG allowed DHS/FEMA to quickly certify the integrity of its FPDS-NG submissions. The team also developed a training package to address areas for improvement for FPDS-NG data reporting, and delivered the training to the Acquisition Management Division (AMD) at FEMA Headquarters and in the field.

The FPDS-NG project is the second contract ConceptSolutions has secured with DHS/FEMA. In March 2007, ConceptSolutions won a contract with DHS/FEMA’s Acquisition Gulf Coast Recovery (AGCR) Office. During the one-year contract, the ConceptSolutions team supported future disaster response and recovery efforts in the Gulf Coast area. The ConceptSolutions team provided AGCR with a variety of functional and system support services, including contract award review and validation, activity management and control reporting, technology optimization to improve government efficiency and effectiveness, and Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) systems support.

Fueled by a number of major federal contract wins and more than 114 percent compound annual growth from 2004 through 2008, ConceptSolutions recently earned a ranking of 19th on Washington Technology magazine’s 2009 Fast 50. Washington Technology’s Fast 50 is a listing of the 50 fastest growing small businesses in the government market.

In September 2008, ConceptSolutions garnered its second consecutive ranking in Deloitte & Touche’s prestigious Technology Fast 50 by placing 28th in Virginia. In November 2008, the company also earned a spot in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 program for the second straight year with a ranking of 287. Deloitte’s annual Fast 50/500 programs rank the fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies locally and across North America based on percentage of revenue growth over the previous five-year period.
