About Tu Bi Foundation (TBF)
The Tu Bi Foundation (TBF) is a nonprofit organization, established in 1993 by the Abbot of the Viet Nam Buddhist Center (VNBC). The title “Tu Bi” represents compassion and loving-kindness. The Viet Nam conflict left many Vietnamese people deeply impoverished. As a champion of education, the Abbot realized that only through education could one be helped out of poverty. Through the Foundation, The Abbot began granting scholarships to orphans, and then extended this to children from poor families. With positive results, the program soon broadened to include other educational programs, including establishing schools, providing classroom supplies, providing teacher salaries in poor villages, and emergency relief. About Victory Junction Gang Camp
Victory Junction Gang Camp enriches the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses by providing life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun, and empowering, in a safe and medically sound environment. Children that attend Victory Junction could not otherwise attend a camp because of their medical needs. Victory Junction is a year-round camp serving kids, ages 7 to 15, with a variety of health issues, including arthritis, cancer, epilepsy, immuno-deficiency/HIV, sickle cell disease, heart disease, diabetes, neurological disease, burn survivors, cystic fibrosis, autism, and physical disabilities. Victory Junction now serves North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, with 15 percent of campers coming from other parts of the US. Established in 2004, Victory Junction was founded by NASCAR driver Kyle Petty and wife Pattie, in honor of their son Adam. The Camp is comprised of 33 racing-themed buildings, including the Goody's Body Shop medical center, Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America water park, and Adam’s Race Shop. Victory Junction is a member of the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps, founded in 1988 by actor Paul Newman with the opening of his Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.
