Tom Newman Helps Bolster Reston-Based IT Consulting Company’s Intel Experience and Expand DOD Opportunities
Reston, VA - September 18, 2006 - ConceptSolutions (www.Concept-Solutions.com), an information management and technology consulting company serving commercial, government, and military organizations, announced today that it has appointed Harry Thomas “Tom” Newman II as the company’s Director of Business Development, specializing in US Department of Defense (DOD) Intelligence contracts.

During Newman’s 12-year career supporting business in the DOD Intelligence Information Systems (DoDIIS) community, he has helped companies secure contract awards totaling more than $5.5 billion. Since 1998, Newman has led the business development efforts for, and defended the existing client base of, General Dynamics Information Technology. While at General Dynamics, Newman was responsible for securing numerous contract wins, including Counterintelligence Field Activity (CIFA) valued at $7 million, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Human Intelligence (HUMINT) Operational Communications Network (HOCNET) ($12 million), DIA SY Contract growth ($9 million), and the preservation of existing Intelligence Information, Command and Control, Equipment and Enhancements (ICE2) business base valued at $12 million.
Prior to his work with General Dynamics, Newman served from 1995 to 1998 as a business development specialist with BTG Inc. His efforts at BTG included coordinating the proposal for the Integration for Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (IC4I) program valued at $1 billion, and managing Past Performance volume for the USN Joint Deployable Intelligence Support System (JDISS) program valued at $60 million. Before joining BTG, Newman was a program support specialist with Bell Atlantic for, where he was assigned to the Advanced Technology Demonstration Network (ATDNET).
Newman earned his BA in Political Science from Marymount University in 1994.
