ConceptSolutions Partners with Ventera to Win USDA Contract Reston, VA - April 28, 2005 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded ConceptSolutions and partner Ventera Corporation a contract to maintain a new, Web-based information system supporting the USDA Food and Nutrition Service's (FNS) Food Stamp Program. Under the FNS program, more than 153,000 grocery stores and specialized meal service providers nationwide deliver food assistance in return for food coupons or electronic benefits. The new information system is the next version of the Store Tracking and Redemption System, known as STARS II. STARS II brings FNS retailer management current with technology and enables FNS to prepare for future opportunities, such as receiving online information updates direct from licensed or applicant firms.
