Data Integration Successes

A data warehouse is an architecture and set of processes, which provide a client with the facilities to extract, integrate and maintain complex operational data from disparate commercial sources. The end result is a fully functional facility that gives clients a competitive advantage by allowing them to access data that supports their decision-making processes.

ConceptSolutions has developed detailed methodologies for creating and implementing Data Warehousing solutions within a 90-day timeframe. Our solutions benefit all industries and encompasses all areas, including customers, sales, revenue, provisioning and network data:

Customer

ConceptSolutions created a data warehouse, which captured customer product preferences and install/disconnect patterns for use by a marketing department of a telecommunications company to help expedite the mailing of incentive checks.

Sales/Revenue

ConceptSolutions created a data warehouse for a telecommunications company for monitoring customer and revenue data. The revenue data was captured by the data warehouse and used by the finance department to monitor revenue derived from mailing incentive checks.

Provisioning

ConceptSolutions created a data warehouse that captures order entry and provisioning information for a leading telecommunications company. This complex data warehouse, which took two-and-a-half years to develop, captures dimensions such as product, services, business segments, customer segments, sales channels, sales regions, and order status. The data warehouse also provides Key Performance Indicator (KPI) measures, such as cycle time, throughput, accuracy, cost, and statistical control charts. This information is delivered via three separate user interfaces to accommodate various user requirements:

  • An EIS web based interface that publishes graphs and statistics for "last business day" orders and provisioning statistics
  • A Cognos client interface for publishing daily Datamarts; and
  • A Web-based interface that publishes data marts with drill-through-to-detail and user query capabilities.

Network

ConceptSolutions created a Help Desk KPI application, which defines key performance indicators for a Remedy trouble ticket system by providing detailed reporting to assist technicians and managers to monitor ticket creation, ticket processing, and ticket closure. This project produced a data mart with various dimensions and measures, including cycle time, throughput, and on-time performance – all used to optimize network capabilities.
