Phong Mai
President and CEO
Mr. Mai has 18 years of professional experience spanning multiple industries culminating in a powerful combination of technical knowledge and business acumen necessary for full life-cycle development of systems that solve complex business problems. Mr. Mai spent five years in finance with Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc. and six years consulting in the area of Telecommunications Information Technology. Mr. Mai holds a B.A. in Chemistry from The Johns Hopkins University and an M.S. in Finance from George Washington University.
John Krahulec
Executive VP and COO
Mr. Krahulec has more than 16 years of experience in Information Technology focused in the telecommunications and broadband industry. He has experience in systems development, reporting analysis and project management for a variety of marketing systems ranging from Database Marketing, Campaign Management, Marketing Operations, to Financial Planning and Decision Support Systems, Data Warehouses and Data Marts, Intranet Applications, Enterprise Resource Planning, and Supply-Chain Management Systems. He has served in every role required for full-scale systems development: Director of IT, Project Manager, Technical Lead, Database Administrator, Developer, and Data Architect. Mr. Krahulec is experienced in full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and CMM processes. Mr. Krahulec holds a B.S. in Management Science and Management from Virginia Tech.
Todd Schaberg
Executive VP and CIO
Mr. Schaberg has 16 years of experience in system development, database administration, computer modeling, and systems analysis in the telecommunications industry. He has a background in designing and implementing high-availability database systems for the enterprise; functional and technical analysis of mission critical OLTP, decision support, and Web-accessible databases; engineering systems design, testing, performance analysis, and risk assessment. Mr. Schaberg received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from James Madison University.
Mike Shields
Chief Technology Officer
With more than 12 years of experience in RDBMS database design, data management, automation, and online content infrastructure and deployment, Mr. Shields is responsible for overseeing ConceptSolutions’ development of customized technology solutions and supporting the company’s expansion into commercial and government markets. Before joining ConceptSolutions, Mr. Shields spent six years as a software engineer with America Online, Inc., where he gained expertise in content infrastructure, deployment, and technical training. Among his successes with AOL, Mr. Shields served as the technical lead and designer for a variety of AOL news and entertainment content sites, including CBS and ABC News, CBS and ABC Sports, MTV, Nickelodeon, The Late Show with David Letterman, and Electronic Arts. Mr. Shields studied Information Systems Management from George Mason University.
Mark Brown
Vice President, Aviation Programs
Mr. Brown has more than 16 years of experience in Information Technology supporting multiple federal and civilian agencies with a focus on Financial, Health Care and Airspace Management. Mr. Brown is responsible for managing Concept Solutions aviation business practices that encompasses overseeing FAA and DoD projects. Before joining Concept Solutions, Mr. Brown managed the implementation and enhancements of a Grants Management system supporting multiple institutes and a commercial product used to improve the accuracy and the efficiency of gathering clinical trial data. In addition, Mr. Brown spent nine years implementing and customizing Federal Financial Systems and Data Warehousing projects for multiple federal agencies. He has experience in full life-cycle development with a focus on large-scale implementations and Data Warehousing. Mr. Brown received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from James Madison University.
Barbara Walsh
Director, Human Resources
Ms. Walsh has over ten years of experience in Human Resources Management and has been with Concept Solutions since April 2004. She has a Bachelors Degree in Management, is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and a member of the Northern VA Chapter of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). Ms. Walsh oversees all operational aspects of the employment process including employee benefits, payroll, compensation, HR policies and compliance, employee relations and recruiting.
