Data Warehousing Successes
A data warehouse is a set of processes and an architecture, which provides a client the facilities to extract, integrate, and maintain complex operational data from disparate commercial sources. The end-result is fully functional facility allowing our clients the ability to access data that supports their decision-making process and thereby giving them a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Through our prior client relationships, ConceptSolutions has developed detailed methodologies for developing and implementing Data Warehousing solutions, which can be developed within a 90-day timeframe. Our solutions cross all industries and have included customer, sales, revenue, provisioning, and network data.
Customer
ConceptSolutions created a data warehouse which captures customer product preferences and install & disconnect patterns. This information is used by the Marketing Department of a telecommunications company as a means of enhancing their mailing of incentive checks.
Revenue
ConceptSolutions created a data warehouse for a telecommunications company, which monitored both customer and revenue data. The revenue data was captured by the data warehouse and used by the Finance Department to monitor the revenue derived from mailing incentive checks.
Provisioning
ConceptSolutions created a data warehouse that captures order entry and provisioning information for a leading telecommunications company. The data warehouse captures dimensions such as product, services, business segments, customer segments, sales channels, sales regions, and order statuses. The data warehouse also provides Key Performance Indicator (KPI) measures such as cycle time, throughput, accuracy, cost and statistical control charts. This information is delivered via three different user interfaces to accommodate various user requirements: an EIS web based interface that publishes graphs and statistics for 'last business day' order and provisioning statistics; a Cognos client interface for publishing daily datamarts; and a web based interface that publishes data marts with drill-through-to-detail and user query capabilities. This is a very complex data warehouse that required two-and-a-half years of development effort.
Network
ConceptSolutions created a HelpDesk KPI application which defines key performance indicators for the Remedy trouble ticket system by providing detailed reporting to assist technicians and managers to monitor ticket creation, ticket processing and ticket closure. This project produces a data mart with various dimensions and measures including cycle time, throughput and on-time performance all used to optimize network capabilities.
